Derrida <> Lacan, what writing is it about?
Keywords:
Lacan, Derrida, language, writingAbstract
The aim of this paper is to examine the notions concerning the concept of writing in Jacques Lacan’s and Jacques Derrida’s works. This concept is beyond what we, commonly, understand by the word writing. This way, an analysis will take place so it can be discerned what writing means when it’s not linked to meaning for both of these thinkers, and to explore the possible dialogue between Derrida’s contemporary philosophy and lacanian psychoanalysis, not without the point of view of other thinkers. Derridian notions such as différance and writing will be linked with lacanian notions letter, jouissance and writing. It will also be important, on the one side, the discussion on the phoné’s problematics when it concerns this specific notion of writing. And, on the other, to articulate this with the lacanian notion of sinthome and jouissance. This way will lead to show that the notion of writing that concerns Lacan and Derrida is one that does not concern meaning or significance.
