What is an habit?
Acerca de la posibilidad de una desambiguación de la noción merleau-pontiana
Keywords:
Merleau-Ponty, Habit, Corporeality, AmbiguityAbstract
The notion of habit, a key piece in the rediscovery of corporeal experience that Phénoménologie de la perception carries out, is approached by Merleau-Ponty by means of an analysis of an heterogeneous variety of phenomena, a procedure which endows it with a seemingly ambiguous and indeterminate sense. This paper intends to elucidate its function in the context of the general conceptual economy of the book, and to confront the merleau-pontyan notion with some well-known philosophical precedents (R. Descartes, D. Hume, E: Husserl, H. Bergson).
